Superintendent Jeff Harding announced his retirement to district staff effective June 30, 2019, in a mass email at 9 a.m. this morning. Harding has served as the MVLA superintendent for four years, in addition to 38 years in education and 11 years as a superintendent.

“I’m immensely grateful that I chose this career path, but the time has come to open doors to new opportunities in retirement,” Harding said in the email.

Harding was not immediately available for comment before the article’s time of publication.

“I send heartfelt appreciation to everyone in our MVLA family who has shared their passion with me, challenged me, and inspired me to be my best,” Harding said in the email. “I remain 100% focused on improving outcomes for our students and our staff for the remainder of the year.”
