In an email yesterday, Superintendent Nellie Meyer confirmed that physical school closure is extended for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. Prom and in-person graduation are also canceled.

In the email, Meyer said “we are looking at ways to celebrate and honor our seniors in some fashion, maybe at a later date” and that the district is in the process of collecting ideas from students and staff for input.

This decision is aligned with Governor Newsom and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond’s decision to close all California campuses to remain closed this school year. The Santa Clara County Office of Education and Santa Clara County District Superintendents mandated all Bay Area schools to close based on that guidance.

The district is determining virtual school structure for after spring break.
